Are you getting zapped with mountains of spam since you put your email address on your web site? Here's why?
Email harvesting programs go from site to site collecting as many email addresses as possible so the spammer harvesting email addresses can spam you later. Email harvesters crawl through forums, message boards, blogs, sites pages, and forms that might contain email addresses. After the email addresses are harvested and before you know it, your inbox is full of spam!
Here is a simple way to hide the email addresses on your site. Use the following JavaScript to parse the email address components. The script makes it unreadable to email harvesters and other malicious scripts, however it is completely readable by the user and the link functions correctly. Change the variable names to reflect your site and eMail address! Place the script where you would want the email address. Below are two examples
